On Saturday 14th December 1935 Ted Drake set the record for most goals scored in a single match in the top flight. He scored all 7 of Arsenal's goals in their 7-1 victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park. His seven goals came from just eight shots. The other shot hit the woodwork!
